I made some changes to my website and need input.

First, a new category was made of items that can be bought at wholesale price so ppl can experience the quality of the items and be assured that it will arrive in perfect, undamaged condition and on time.

Second, I deleted shipping charges on all products.

Third, all florals are on special with no expiration.

Good things, bad things?

First of all, great site. But unfortunatly making drastic changes to your website affects your already placed rankings on Google, and Yahoo!. As far as your keywords go, you will not be getting hardly any hits with general keywords because of the other 50 million or so people who want the same keywords. To drive traffic to your site in the shortest amount of time is to do SEO. Your business relies on Holiday traffic which is up 22% online this year. It will be costly if you were to try and do it all yourself, which is why you should hire someone who is affordable and will get you placed somewhere on the first page of the search engines during the next month or so. This really goes for any and all new business' that are trying to make money by the end of the year, but online line sales are up, and you definatly want to take advantage of that.

scsurfguy, you wrote "Holiday traffic . . . is up 22% online this year" -- could you share your source for that statistic? (I'm not doubting your number, I'd just appreciate a reliable and real-time place to track data like that.) Thanks!

I think the new category is a great addition -- it directly addresses one of the comments I made initially in your earlier post (the need for some items under $30 to build your business). So, yes - a "good thing."

You say that you eliminated shipping charges on all items. Does that mean all items ship for free? If so, I'd splash "FREE SHIPPING" somewhere near top, and perhaps remove the shipping choice drop-down (if only one option is available anyway) and replace it with "FREE Shipping (Arrives 3 - 5 Business Days)". I think if a visitor sees "free shipping," the basket prices that are there now are much more realistic. So, yes - a "good thing."

Even "on special," the florals may a tough sell just because of the competition. The prices compare to complete arrangements (i.e., WITH a vase) from FTD and other on-line providers, plus every local grocery and chain drug store seems to have a flower shop now (not to mention street vendors in metro areas). There's nothing wrong with what you're offering -- there are just so many other places to get fresh flowers these days. So this one is not a "bad thing," but I wouldn't expect it to boost sales much.

Hope this helps. Again, I think the site is well-organized and very pleasing to browse. Good luck!

At this time of the year, your only way to get visitors and business is to create an Adwords account, so you can start advertising your e-commerce in a minute.

When you've got time next year, you can focus more on the SEO work, because if you do some optimization today, you won't see the results in months.

That's my 2 cents.

CorpCons08, please tell me where are you seeing the charges and I will get that taken care of. I took out all of the shipping drop down boxes, or so I thought. I'm trying to find where you may be seeing these charges, in the meantime, could you please tell me the exact location where you seen them?

Thank You.

On the checkout of the thinking of you items I am getting "OVERNIGHT SHIPPING" which is the same cost as the item making it cost double. Look at any of those items, they all did it for me.

I made up an order and proceeded all the way up unitl it asked for my account information and no where did I see any shipping charges.

Please understand I am not saying that you are not seeing them. But, I do have one question.

When did you try putting in the order? I took out the shipping menues late yesterday evening. If you visited my site earlier yesterday afternoon, or possibly earlier than that, there is a strong possibility that you had seen some shipping charges then.

OK. Then you could have seen the charges before I updated all the items with no shipping charges. If your client is still interested, please try again. I give my word that there are no shipping charges. The item will ship 3-5 biz day with UPS. I apologize for not getting that done sooner.
