Hello, I am located in VA and I want to start a tax preparation office in the area. I am going in with 3 other entrepreneur. This is a low start up cost around $5,000. We all puttin up the capital to start. We already have a well written business plan and a Marketing plan. We all took our time and thought of alot of great ideas. I want to know what are some good cost efficiency marketing ideas some of you guys may have or used to make your bussiness sucessful.

You might get good bang for your buck using google adwords, but be sure to limit the geographic area. For example, if I was practicing in New York City, I'd limit my adwords to only people who search from inside of NYC. It works quite well!

Other cheaper alternatives:

  • Flyers on community boards
  • Have some postcards made (I like vistaprint.com) and stuff local mailboxes
  • Offer referal rewards to existing customers (like get 10% off if you refer a friend)
