Hello there, I have an online store. We have made numerous changes just to get it to look the way we want. The site has been up and running for 2 months now. I have done advertising by SEO, and other forums, but still nothing. What else can I do to increase traffic on the site? Also, any suggestions about the site would be helpful.

Do you have a link to the site? Also what do you sell online?

Have you thought about the possiblity of having your link on other sites? Find a community meet and greet that do networking and start there. www.meetup.com I am doing that now. It really is not about what you know it is WHO you know.

Try it out

Hi Bertlins,

2 month is to early to see results in SEO, espcially with those products you offer.
SEO is more a long term strategie ...

At this stage i would recommend to drive traffic from
  • Banner, Email Advertising + sending PR messages
  • SEM (Search Engine Marketing) campaigns (paid ads)
  • Start writting in related forums, blog, social platforms about your shop/products

By the way, it's not a niche, so you have a very high competition.

Best regards

Thanks. Im guessing the fact that the market is so saturated, that we a have a lot of competition. We are currently working on some ideas that will set us aside from the amazons and overstocks of the industry.

okay, here is the deal, your on-page SEO is out of wack, the urls are not seo, the title tag is duplicate on all pages, the keywords are not in the correct order, etc. SO FIX YOUR SEO!

Now, you also have a trust issue, some how you have to look credible and instill trust in your visitors. DO THIS BY GETTING THE BBB ONLINE SEAL OR MOVE YOUR SSL SEAL CLOSER TO THE TOP OF THE PAGE SO IT IS VISIBLE.

Moreover, study your order process/page and see if you can reduce steps in the process.

I would also recommend that you sign up with google/analytis and create your ecommerce funnel so that you see exactly where the customer stopped in the ordering process.

SEM, do SEM but do it SMART, don't go and use google default recommendation, start slow and little but always have 300 or more keyword variations, including misspells.

Affiliates, get involved, talk to deal sites, like slickdeals, etc... and see if they can help you, usually you pay per sale but you can figure that out with them.

Now, go and add your products on google: http://www.google.com/base/help/sellongoogle.html - also add your self in the local search results.

Join your local chamber of commerce and network.

Hire someone to a do a basic SWOT analysis for your site.

So, that is all for now, I am tired and will answer more questions if you wish. If this information is somewhat helpfull, you can buy me a case of beer here: http://www.shoppersvineyard.com/categories_new.asp?cID=987

Good Luck!

Hey, you should take time to double check your site, some of the prices that are mark down are actually lower than the sales price you're advertising. Take a look at that one for example, "http://www.bertlins.com/catalog/MP3_MP4_Players-14-1.html".

You can make it happen.

Hello Bertlins,
I apologize for my mistake, for some reason when I opened your website, using Mozilla Firefox web browser it was not displaying properly the grey marked down prices.

Good day, good luck
