Starting a new music business.....Need funds.

My wife and I have a vision of opening a Music store. I currantly run a family business but want to start my own venture. I have all the basics layed out. For instance, what products, where at, and how to manage the store. The only problem I have is that I do not know how to request start up capitol. Please help.

If I was planning on opening a Music store, I would do two things

One, Develop both a Business and Marketing Plan

Two, Talk to SCORE. SCORE is FREE both in person and on line.

How much funds do you need?? LUCKIEST

What type of music store are you opening? Will you be selling CD's or will you be selling instruments? I agree; you do need a solid Business Plan and marketing strategies. If you need help with Business Plan, give me a call we may be able to help.

Just a note to ponder on. The President of my company knows a lot about the music business. In his earlier years, he was in a band. Then he went on to Engineering bands. He even produced. He may be a good person to help you on your venture. Please feel free to call us.

Lot of sources for start-up ventures. Can you tell a little more? How much are you looking for? Are you looking for secured funding or unsecured funding? What are the funds to be used for? Do you plan to run this full-time from the start or are you looking to work your way into this business (while keeping your current job)?

Lastly, can the family business you work for now help with funding?

Well, I am not sure of any exact figures yet. I do plan to run the business full time and not have another job, unless I have to stay where I'm at to make ends meet.
