As small business owners and employees, what are everyone's most widely used and favorite web host providers? What makes them better than others? What would make a perfect web host service? Is a perfect web host provider even possible with our continuous innovative society?

Let's hear it!

If you want a 3 page business website and hosting package for $150.00 complete, go to http://www.schinzelenterprise.net. Hosting is free for the first year so you cannot go wrong.

I've useed Godaddy aswell, and Yahoo. Yahoo is horrible at customer service and the service can be dodgy. One thing I look for in a web package is sheer ease of use in such a way that it doesn't translate to 'idiot-proof webhosting' (EG: holding your hand / disabling certain features) - I do alot of low level things, So i need access to advanced services such as being able to use telnet and sudo, not use some dodgy frontpanel.

The Reason that TheBlueKingdom has Good Customer Support Is because it is a site created with http://www.wildwestdomains.com/ Domain Reseller Program and Wild West Domains is a Godaddy Company and so the Customer Support for TheBlueKingdom.com is Godaddy's Customer Support Team.

GoDaddy hosted an event right here on the SBOC about two weeks ago. Just reading the thread gave me the impression that they pride themselves on customer service.

I only had to deal with the Godaddy Customer support a couple of times and both times they were excellent. I have 2 sites hosted with them and have no plan of changing host

GoDaddy is good for cheap domains, when you want to secure your domain like Fort Knox, forget that.

As far as the hosting, it is the worse I have experienced.

I don't even talk about the technical support, when you are asking a question about asp.net coding you've got answers on web 2.0

Anyway, If you want a rock solid hosting company give a try to http://www.servelink.com/ they provide exceptional services.

I've found Godaddy to be good for domain registration but not hosting.

We do our hosting in house on the main domain but I do have experience with Hostgator and have had some very good experiences as far as inexpensive hosts go.

I can tell who not to use and that's sightground.com. They're horrible. They sucker you in with the low cost but your own your own after that. If you don't know anything about building your website, you're going to have to rely on reading their tutorial to find out what you need to know and we know how difficult that can be. You will never have the opportunity to speak with a live voice and just when you thought you get to speak with someone, they'll redirect you to the tutorial. TRUST ME, SIGHTGROUND.COM IS HORRIBLE, DON'T EVER SIGN WITH THEM UNLESS YOU KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT BUILDING A WEBSITE.
