Setting up a Franchise

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me by telling me what legislation ( meaning paper work etc) and whatever else is needed to start up a franchise?
Also if anyone know's what is needed to be done to set up a PLC or LTD in the UK?

Pleasee reply i would find your information very vey helpful.

I'm just doing a bit of research before i go ahead, so for now i just need to find out what legislation is needed before hand.

Here in the US, if a company wants to franchise (ie sell the right to use their concept) the law requires that they make something called a UFOC available to potential franchisees. It basically outlines costs, risks etc. I'd look into whether the UK would require something similar.

I've not seen much discussion in this community regarding UK franchises, so I'm not sure how much first hand experience you'll find here. I can suggest two other websites that might help.
