What is best way to market online forum and LinkedIn group.

I recently started a LinkedIn group and plan to open an Online Forum to match it. The group is for small business owners, startup businesses, and attorneys, accountants and other professionals providing services to small businesses. It is intended to be a place where small business owners ask questions to advisers or professionals or other small business owners. I plan on having a ranking system for the users to rank the professionals or advisers based on their answers.

What suggestions would you have for the forum and what site or program would you use to create the forum. Also, how would you get the word out and get people to join the LinkedIn group or the forum.

For your forum to work correctly on LinkedIn, you must be considered an industry leader in what you do.

Linkedin has some of the top rated professionals in the world, and you will easily be looked over without a credible education and extensive work experience.

If you are not the best at what you do, it will be hard for other professionals to consider you a "leader" as well as your group will not be validated as a worthy group to join.

If you find difficulties on this level, you might want to find a way to market yourself and what you do from another aspect, and rather then trying to approach it from the "top level working down", it might be best to start with a pebble here or pebble there, forever building on your mountain.

Never use just one resource as your method to market what you do. To become extremely viable in your industry, your must market yourself in many areas.

Good luck in what you do, and I have to get back to moving pebbles, as my competitors have just moved a mountain.
