Hi, I have a question.

I want to start a business and begin building my business credit using a virtual address, one that I will have only a part time physical presence at (2 days per month), but have read that having a virtual address as your primary business address will not go over well with Dunn & Bradstreet when trying to establish business credit, so I will just use my home address(along with a dedicated business phone) to start my LLC.

My question is this: After I have established business credit, have some vendors, etc, would it then matter if I were to change my business address to a virtual address? Or would I still need to find a small physical office to have as my business address?

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

Moving from a Home business address to a Virtual Address

Welcome. How soon do you plan on starting this business??

Where are you?? (Like what State??) Anybody going into business should have
both a Lawyer and an Accountant. I would start by asking your Lawyer.

Another source to get GREAT info is SCORE online. SCORE is FREE.
On line you can chose the background of the Counselor.

Happy Thanksgiving and good luck, LUCKIEST

I am in Atlanta, GA and I intend to have this business going within the next 90 days. By the way, it's a commercial cleaning service.

I will indeed check with SCORE and will look into ( and find ) both a lawyer and an accountant. Thanks for the good advice!

A DUNS number identifies a unique business entity. So yes, it would matter if that virtual address were shared by other entities (as most virtual office addresses are) and you didn't have another physical address/location that was unique to your enterprise.
