Can you believe since the SBOC was put online a short period of time ago, that they have reached 25,000 members?

Unbelievable, if you consider how hard it is for any community to build a network of members.

Congratularions SBOC! I willing to bet that 2009 holds a bigger result to all of your hard work.

As a note to the community as well, the SBOC website is reaching astronomical figures in search engines, and is increasing at an infinte rate.

Seems to me they are doing something right!

THANKS SBOC for YOUR COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE!

Yes, the SBOC has hit the 25,000 member mark. No question, BoA and its partners in this are doing a fabulous job of drawing in small business owners and prospective owners.

It would appear that 24,276 of those members haven't logged on again since the week they signed up. On average, about 75 people a day join this community, but only two of them ever revisit it.

Why is that, do you suppose?

I'm sure those of us who've been participating here for awhile can offer a variety of reasons, but I'd also be very interested in the impressions that newer members have formed.

Perception is reality. People come to this forum thinking because it is sponsored by a bank, it must be a place to get funding. I think while this is a great idea, I think BOA could do a better job of communicating that this is not a place to find funding.

I would prefer quality over quantity - look at what the majority of posts are.

First congratulations SBOC on the 25,000. I'm glad my e-mail is working right now, just think of all the e-mail I would of gotten if everybody posted in one day. Whew!! thanks SBOC.

Second Iwrite you said the majority is looking for funding? Doesn't the majority rule? There are forums here on this site not about funding, why not use them?

Perhaps people are looking for more substance.

Yes I would agree that substance is part of it.

I believe the other side is that most come to this community to post three hundred ads and then never return.

I personally know of at least a dozen people that have not rerturned because they feel it is not friendly.

Anyway's thats my view, and seeing that it is the HOLIDAY.

I prefer to take a back seat to all of this, and let the turkey run the show.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

No, the majority should not always rule. You couldn't run a business by giving each employee an equal vote, nothing would ever get done. The majority doesn't stick around to rule, anyway. They are looking for funding, they don't find it and in a week or two they are gone. That was my only point. Did I say it was good or bad? No.

I agree, there are forums that don't talk about funding. I do participate in them. Go back and check my posts, I try to avoid the funding request forums for my won reasons.

I would like to be impressed by the numbers but I can't because of the turnover rate. It is like a church with 40,000 members but only 200 show up for worship.

I think the number one problem is that this community has an "Exclusive Members Only" feel to it, yet it is a Public community.

You cannot be both private and public at the same point.

I am again interested if the SBOC staff will validate what you are saying, or if you can post your credentials for knowing this to be fact.

Don't sweat it DomainDiva. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, that doesn't make it right or wrong - it is just an opinion. It is what makes a forum a forum. I won't have it any other way.

iWrite is correct in this.

It is just an opinion. Write or wrong, it is just an opinion.

Anyways, as I have offered before, Happy Thanksgiving To All.
