I am just curious... are you serious? Most people take their time very seriously. Are you offering the designer a % of future profits or anything? I mean.. if you are a non-profit or something.. I can see asking for pro bono services. Otherwise.. I really do wonder if you are joking around? Depending on how many products you offer... you are probably looking at about $1k minimum (I say that because I looked at your profile and noticed you are only marketing one product). I freelance for one company that does design/seo. You can put up a website, but if the site is not optimized... you might as well not waste your money. I just wanted you to be aware of that so you don't get "taken" or so you don't think you can just throw up a site and expect business to come to you.

This is a great way to get started if you are operating on a shoestring too. Great advice and resources Rich! Then, you can do research to learn about how to optimize and promote your site. There is a ton of free advice online about that. Just make sure you are honed in to ethical optimization advice such as what you will fine at seomoz.org or seobook.com.

I designed my own website using Web.com they have a new tool that lets you design an online store as well. Their hosting fees are around $20/month. It comes with built in shopping carts, and you can link sales to your Paypal and/or Ebay account. It is easy and with a little pratice and patience, you can do it yourself. Just study other websites and know what you want to do with yours. After you make money, then you can invest in paying a pro to redesign your website. My business pays for its own website now. If you have a good product(s) to sell and good info to go along with it, your customers will come.
