Checking out your profile I see that you are in Florida. Seems like there would be some good opportunities with condos and senior citizens residences.

Baboo, to start you are saying 1) expanding the business 2)help this company to get started.
Is this company in business NOW?? Do you hace a business NAME??
To expand, you need a marketing plan. Do you have a advertising budget??
You have to identify customers demands, identify your market, its size and location.
For example, if you now do residential cleaning, you should have flyers to give out to other
houses in the block (maybe with a special introduction price for new customers)
Good luck, LUCKIEST

Yes I do have a business now. I have been in business now for two years and I have a advertising budget and marketing plan. The company now seek to expnad in the Commercial Cleaning Business, I am using this forum to help expnad the business. Along with other forums. I have been commercial cleaning now for 20 years. My expertise is in Restuarants and buildings. I prefer Commercial and limit my business only to the exterior of home cleaning in this area. Including Windows and Yard, Garage, I love to clean it is a passion to make every thing look good.

Try and get contracts with property management firms - they could help your business grow by giving you contracts for apartment buildings and condos, as well as residential subdivisions.

BDS is right - a property management contract will really help grow your business. Also look at some of the hotels and motels in your area - it may be cheaper for them to pay you than to hire a full time cleaning staff.

Baboo,
I have been doing residential and commercial cleaning for 21 yrs and always something else like wholesaling on the side.
I always had very good luck advertising in the free papers, the pennysaver type papers. I dont know if they have anything like that in Fla. I'm in Central NY People read them and the ads are much less expensive than the larger papers. Its very cost effective. The suggestion to make flyers and pass them out in a neighborhood was a good one. You will already have reference right there for them to talk to.

Another idea is to make some business cards and hand out 3-4 to existing customers and offer a discount on their weekly service if they pass them out and it leads to a new customer.

Residential cleaning is different than commercial. Commercial is Business to Business so they understand a LOT more of the mechanics of a contract, your fees etc. Homeowners often dont have that business savvy and are harder to deal with. You have to be able to sell yourself and your services differently. They can be quite unreasonable at times.

Will you be charging by the hour or by the job? Will you be bringing the cleaning supplies, vacuum etc or will you have the homeowner furnish them? Do you work alone or do you have a crew? If you have a crew will you be cleaning with them or managing? Lots to consider.

If you have any questions I am available to answer. dubbsceo@yahoo.com
