First, your suppliers. Who are they? Have you established your clothing 'lines' and their price points? Have you identified how much inventory you will need and the cash you will need to keep stock coming in? What rag markets will you attend? Dallas only or Dallas, Chicago, LA, NY etc. Have you budgeted money for out of area shows?

Second. Space. You do know that it is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. There are also costs for utilities as well as technology for inventory, sales, etc. will you use land lines or a total VOIP communication solution? Do you have fixtures? Mannequins? Areas designated for fittings? Have you identified space size and made a floorplan?

Remember the better the location the better chances of success however the more per sq foot as well.

Third. Have you thought about alternative retailing to get started? Home parties, maybe a web site, friends, people at church (?), or any groups you are a member of?

Fourth. Inventory control and inventory stop loss prevention. What plans are in place? Will you use a manual inventory system, a custom designed one, or some off the shelf software?

Fifth. Personnel. Will you be hiring anyone or will you be the seven days a week 18 hours a day person?

Have you ever worked rag retail before or worked in an upscale shop? How did you decide this is what you wanted to do? Do you have a degree in Fashion Merchandising?

Just some questions and things to think about.
