Before starting any new business venture, you should probably meet with a good trademark attorney. You don't want to put a lot of work and money into a business name that could get you sued. Not not all logos are entitled to protection too. I recommend the Brandwise Law Firm, P.C. Their web site is at www.brandwiselaw.com which has a lot of good free information.

Be advised too that if you are not ready to go to market you have to renew every six months with what is called a trademark extension. If you have a trademark the assumption is that you have something to sell immediately when you apply for the trademark and are actively engaged in business.
