Anybody been had success selling on eBay?

I have been trying to sell a few of my products on eBay as an additional way to market my website but i have not had much success. I was wondering if there are any businesses out there that use eBay to sell in addition to their own eCommerce website. I appreciate any feedback you can offer.

I've sold things on eBay for years as an individual, but not as a business. My analysis is that if you have a unique/niche product that you are marketing to people who would naturally search on eBay for that category of item, an eBay store can do very, very well. For instance, if my business sold unique products related to classic automobiles (or some other niche interest), I would definitely use eBay. The more widely available your products (and competing products) are through other retail outlets, and the broader your target market for those products is, the harder it becomes to get any real results selling them on eBay. Thank you. Thats about what i suspected. The products i sell are audio / video equipment and i have not had much luck selling on eBay.

Kind of off-topic but I saw on Yahoo! that a woman won an auction on eBay for an abandoned home with a bid of $1.75. The seller, Southern Investments LLC, I'm sure do not consider this a success.

eBay has taken a hit like most businesses in this fragile economy. Also due to it's souring relationship with Google and the way it has increased fees for eBay Sellers. And the change in management have all accounted for it's demise.

The end result is that eBay is focusing on Paypal which it owns and is it's cash cow and moving away from an auction format towards a "Buy it Now" Amazon style.

I would say, eBay sellers should continue to use it's services but diversfy and build your own stores independently and drive traffic there instead of relying solely on eBay.

what kind of product you are going to sell in ebay ?.i mean used or new.first give a positive description about the product.then check wheather you have entered the correct price in marketplace.sure you can sell any products in ebay.its very easy.

Maybe many people success selling on eBay,but I'm agree with that those opportunities are very very very rare.
