Have you tried talking to fellow pool hall owners in the area about how they like owning their business? That information may help you decide if the pool hall is a good fit for you. It sounds like a lot of long and late working nights. Are you a night owl?

The first thing you have to do is to inquire about loans for your business. The best way to do this is to go to the small business part of Bank of America. They will assist you with obtaining a bank loan or a small business loan from the government. During the loan process, you will be making a business plan, etc.

Do a search on the web for Business Plan. There is a good business plan at [www.score.org|http://www.score.org]. complete the business plan to the best of your ability. The purpose of the plan is to make sure you look behind all the trees and have given your idea lots of thought. Many of the questions in a business plan may seem redundant, but keep answering them. The SBA in your state should have a data base of businesses which will have national statistics on profit margins, amount spent on advertising and perhaps the number of competitors you may have. Be sure to take a couple of days to scour this data base. Money is always the problem, you cannot have too much. You need to plan to run this business for 6 to 12 months without a profit. I think Google almost went 10 years without a profit. Business is not for the weak or shy.

Hi,
I think that the one most important step of starting a sucessfull business is having someone in your family like grandmother father or someone that has established time credit, and whos has great credit and good credit for a long time.

And have them either co-sign or get you a loan out for you and having them as a steping stool to success. to a sucessful plain and to your company.
Cause i think that anyone who starts a business wish or asks for support form their family.no matter how old you are or how smart you are we are all humen.

Goodluck.

As I approach my 40’s, I am seriously embracing working smarter. What I mean is that after years of work, I end up with 2 very different types of businesses.

My 1st one, created in 2000, follows a classic structure: overhead, employees, product manufacturing. I love it, but it takes most of my time, and revenues, even when doing well.

My second one started more recently. As someone very concerned to age well and be healthy, I started using daily a superjuice called MonaVie (after reading that Sumner Redstone, CEO of Viacom, called it his anti-aging secret. So did well known Dr. Perricone). I loved the product so much, that I decided to become a distributor. It cost me $39 to enroll, which gave me access to all their virtual office, collateral, customer service, product wholesale prices, website, all included. No overhead, no manufacturing, no shipping anything, no big investment. Just a great product that fits perfectly our baby boomer time. I now make more money out of distributing a product I love, with no employees, no overhead, no hassle, than with my classic business.

Both businesses are exciting and rewarding, but I do believe in having time left to enjoy my family and life. Now, you need to define what you are trying to achieve. Wealth. Quality life. Or both…

Armell is right on track! What do you expect from your business? After you read Michael Gerber's book :E-Myth" you will realize that most business owners are simply buying themselves 18 hours a day job for 7 days a week where thay can't be fired but can't quit either for their business is attached to all kind of loans, receivables, payables and worst of all to their houses as well.

Economy is global ---- let it sink in and then explore your options again!
