First, let's see if this post goes through...

We're looking for a line of credit or some type of capital to be a reserve for payroll in case we need to tap into it here and there. We are an outsource IT company with great profit margins and a good paydex score, even though we've been in business less than 2 years. Any ideas?

socalbits,

Hope all is well. Have you considered talking with someone about an SBA loan? Some types of working capital are around but generally require collateral.

Will the money be going towards anything else other than payroll emergency\'s like equipment?

Running a staffing agency can be really hard on cash flows. I can definitely understand why you would want to find a line of credit. There is another alternative to help with your cash flows. Factoring invoices is a very popular option for staffing companies. Some factoring offices will also offer back office support to staffing agencies. Here is a link for some information on factoring https://www.spotlightfinancial.biz/Factor_Invoice.php and here is a link on an article for factoring invoices called Managing Cash Flows is Vital to a company's success http://www.spotlightfinancial.biz/Articles.php.

We would welcome an opportunity to provide you with a free no obligation, no cost quotation on factoring your invoices. We are a member of the BBB.

Hello,

to answer some questions:

  • it would be for payroll only. No need to purchase equipment or anything since we are an outsource IT firm, we already have what we need or it is virtual.

  • th reason to have it now would be because we all have regular full time jobs and have been working on building the business on nights/weekends or whenever we can get away during normal working hours. In order to put 100% of our efforts into this (instead of the 10% we currently are), we would like to have a line of credit available to us in case we are short some months. We have 1 investor that is willing to put in approximately 50% of initial payroll for the 1st 6 months and i believe we have enough clients to support the remaining 50% of payroll, but if we come up short one month, we would like to draw upon the LOC if necessary

We just found out that because there is an issue with one person's credit history (good scores, but a lien), we've hit a road block. Anyone have any ideas or resources we can tap into?
