Can somebody please let me know what type of information about my business should I provide to the bank?
Is it there anything that I shouldn't disclose?

What type of info about my business bankers want before extending a loan?

What common interests are shared by bankers and business owners?

Thank you,
Florencia

Need to get a bit more info. What type of loan are you looking for and what are you expecting to do with the funds (need capital, purchase equipment or expand your business)? Any of the loans will require a completed application for the business and the guarantor. They will require a P&L for 2 yrs on the business and 2 yrs tax returns for both. You will need to also do a personal financial statement. Has your business already established credit?

flor33141,

Hope the day is well. Just about any type of financing these days a traditional bank will want to know your credit history. Along with that a business plan, personal financial statement, last 2 years personal and business tax returns, and may want to know about the types of collateral you would have to put up for the loan. These are general starting grounds to see if its even possible to move forward. This doesnt mean you cannot seek financing other places.

Whats type of loan are you seeking? How much? What will the loan be used for?

Generally traditional lenders will want to know your credit score, see your business plan, last 2 years of your personal and business tax returns, personal financial statement, a cost breakdown of where the money will go, etc... Very tough these days.

What is it your trying to accomplish for the business?

I view my bank and banker as a financial partner. There are operational and contractual details of my business that are confidential, but I don't think they would ask for any of that. I can't think of anything that a U.S. bank has asked for that I wasn't willing to disclose.
