If you have a good (and profitable) business idea and plan, you maybe able to attract investors. They will provide funding to your company but in exchange, will expect a $$$ return. It may come in the form of equity (part ownership) of the company. Investors are more likely to invest when the business owner/founder has used their own money/personal savings to fund it, because it shows commitment. So, it's great that you plan on using your own money to invest. Loans are another option as well. With a loan there's interest that you pay back.

Before you start searching for investors - have you developed a business plan? This is generally required when you are seeking funding from investors. A business plan contains information about your product/service; why it is unique; evaluates competition; identifies risks; contains pricing information; management/operational team; and financial projections - including the time horizon of when you will break even. Alternatively, if you seek help from family or friends, maybe they will not ask for a business plan, however will probably still ask a lot of questions about your business idea and operational plan, etc. There are investment companies that specialize in funding particular industries (e.g. bio tech) or you may find angel investors that maybe more broad based (e.g. wealthy individuals). Or you can always try and get a business loan from your local bank. Good luck!
