I would highly recommend shop-script for e-commerce (shop-script.com). If you are not a developer, you can use one of their templates to get up-and-running in no time. If you are a developer, you can do whatever you like in PHP, HTML and MySQL to create a complex site with flash, etc. The e-commerce software they offer integrates easily with all the popular merchant service gateways and it's a cinch to maintain product info, pictures, etc.

I built our site on SBI. Really easy, and nobody knows less about HTML and site building than I do.

Look into SBI here: http://www.sitesell.com/Barry40.html

Also see our website (URL below) to see how it came out.

Good luck.

If you are not a programmer or something, I would just go to webhost.biz. They take care of everything for you: set up merchant account, payment gateway, ssl certificate, etc. Just a suggestion.

Why do you recommend flash for e-commerce? We all know that most of all search engines cannot crawl flash and you will increase the page loading time for visitors.

Yes flash is pretty but I don't think it is useful for e-commerce.

There are millions of websites offering clothing. Unless you have something really unique such as your own designs or an exclusive product line and know how to market your site to get visitors, it is really an up-hill battle. That being said, New York has the largest clothing manufacturing and distribution center this side of China. Go to the guarmet district and you will have no problem finding clothes to sell on-line or anywhere else.
