Slow Hosting Web Company

I have been operating my business for 2 years and I currently have my website which is www.designsforless.biz My website is not the only way that I generate sales BUT I depend on that web traffic. My site is SO SLOW. I have contacted my hosting company on more than one occasson and they tell me they CAN'T find any problem. I've seen the site very slow on different occasions and so have some of my clients-- At this point, I'm willing and ready to change web hosting companies NOW. Let me mention as well, I'm prepaid until December with this company and I feel I should be entitled to partial refund from June 08-Dec08 since I'm paying for a service that Is not working. Secondly, does anyone have any good hosting companies they can recommed? My number one priority is super fast upload, 2nd is storage space, 24/7 customer service, bandwidth-Price is negotiable--I am willing to pay for a service that works Fast!!

24/7 customer services. Good prices. If you are concerned about speed, you might want to "upgrade" to a dedicated server versis a shared server.

Also, make sure your actual site is optimized for speed:

CSS sheets
"clean" code
drop any flash/java scrpting (I noticed some on your home page)
Minimize all pics to lo-res format (hi-res not needed on web)

You could think about using frames for you content and keeping your header/side bar static since they seem consistent on each page

Before swtiching hosting company, perhaps you should check why your site is loading slow.

From my end, your site is loading properly, I also checked your loading time with iwebtool.com which give me this info:
1 http://www.designsforless.biz/ 14.99 KB 1.45 seconds 0.1 seconds

What you can do is also checking your own connection at: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

Perhaps you own connection is slow but not your site loading.

The inital site (home page) loaded quick for me too until I tried to access som other pages in it and then it slowed down which is why I think it could be in the sire design/programming. Your thoughts?

Try some other pages and let us know waht you find.

I'm in agreement with Bridge (and the rest) as well. Double-check your site to make sure that you optimize the image files, any animation, etc.

The site loaded rapidly when we checked it out. Have you tried to access the site from other locations?

If you're really having difficulty with your hosting to that extent, have you considered a dedicated server for your business? Or even a virtual dedicated server? If your business has critical need for reliability, up-time, and disk space, I highly recommend a Dedicated or Virtual Dedicated Server.

Hello Bridge,

I tried again and navigate on internal pages with no problem. Pages are loading fast from my end.

If there is a problem on different locations, I can see only a network data center issue. If it was the programming whatever locations you may be, the problems should arise.

A VPS or a dedicated server will not change anything in this situation, only another network or data center will fix that.

Everyone thank you very much for all of the respones. After I voiced my unsatisfaction loud enough with my current hosting compan, I've notice a big difference in how much faster my site loads. Thanks for educating me on the worldwide web!!!

I also wanted to add that I use www.register.com. I've used this company for about 3 years now, hosting my own web site as well as sites I've designed for other businesses. Their speed has been great along with the service options and reliability. You definitely don't want people to leave your site before it loads!
