You're right, SCORE is a wonderful resource for small business assistance nation-wide! In fact, our company was a SCORE site prior to our designation by the SBA as a Small Business Development Center (SBDC). That designation (by the SBA) has allowed us to offer more small business services than we could as a SCORE site.

Further, your question "why only in Los Angeles?" is a good one. It just so happens that our assigned service area by the SBA is Los Angeles County. Fortunately, we are part of a network of other SBDCs, most located on the campuses of local junior colleges, and we regularly refer small business clients to the SBDC that is most convenient.
