Computer Monitor Issue

We just bought a new computer and monitor. The monitor is a 20". The
problem is in Corel or other design programs if I draw a 5" circle, on the screen it looks like a
oval. I changed the screen resolution but that didn't help.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

What was the problem? I had never heard of that, but in case I do I want to know what to do to correct it. If you don't mind?

I changed the screen resolution to 1680 x 1050. It took some playing around but I got it.
