Foreign Real Estate Loan

I'd like to purchase property outside the US that can be rented out to tourists for much of the year. While I have most of the capital I need to make the purchase, I will need a loan to get what I really need to make it work. Does anyone know how to go about getting a loan for foreign real estate? Do US banks even provide loans for ventures such as this or would I need to go to a bank in the country I'd like to purchase the property in?
