John, I perfectly understand your not believing in MLM as a successful way to make any wealth. I was in Amway as well back in the early 90's and did not make a dime. But hay the soap and vitamins were great. Just could not use my garage do to the inventory. LOL

But then again my mindset was not in the right place for that arena anyway at that time in my life. Just so you know I am not try to pull a fast one here by asking questions I truly would like to understand what you have been through with all of the companies you have been with associated with.

For me and my stint with Amway It was all of time spent locating prospects and then spending more time trying to warm them up and get them to meetings and sales presentations. What were some of your defining moments that perhaps you should move on to something else?

I disagree with going with SMC. Their products are overpriced (even at the member price) and the quality is low. Sure I was able to make a few bucks with their stuff on eBay, even enough to cover the membership enrollment cost, but it certianly became over saturated and difficult to profit with.

I guess I am against the others and am going to stick with my MLM since it is working for me.

Dear Minalegend,

You mentioned that you have already been engaged in some ecommerce with ebay however, you didn't mention the type of product/s you sold? The Internet is still the cheapest way to work from home provided you have skills and some guidance. I have two great resources for you to check out. The first is "The Internet Marketing Center". www.marketingtips.com This is Corey Rudl's company now being run by Derek Gehl since Corey's sudden and untimely passing a couple of years ago. Sign up for their free newsletter and you'll get tons of great info about marketing on the internet. Secondly, there is a great company which is now called "One Source" run by Chris Malta. It used to be called "Worldwide Brands" which included access to their "Drop Ship Source Directory" and you should still be able to find your way there using the following link, www.worldwidebrands.com . If you can locate a good dropshipper who can supply your product line then you'll never have to handle products or run to the post office ever again! I do hope you have found this information insightful. Due let me know if I can be of any further service.

All the best,

Winelight

One Source is a great site, although the subscription price is a bit steep. One thing to keep in mind, if you are going to be buying products at wholesale, you will need to have a tax id number. If the company does not require you to have a tax id number, chances are you aren't truly buying wholesale. You will want to check with your state government for obtaining a tax id number. Without going into details here, I believe I was able to show John that there is at least one MLM company that is not out to screw people. In fact, I'd be telling people whether I got paid or not.

If anyone else would like info on my company, I need about 22 minutes on the phone with you to show it to you. Just let me know where to reach you in the evening or weekends.

Take a look at one of my businesses, Zrii. It is network marketing but this one is emerging and launches May 22. Deepak Chopra endorsed product already breaking some numbers in sales, etc... Here is my website http://www.AmalakiJuiceOnline.com. You can get started for very little but I recommend everyone starts at $500 so they can market properly. Home based, and very popular so far.

Best of luck to you!

Hi Minalegend:

I believe you have lot of talents! I am not good at lot of things that you are
good at! To me that is a talent! Why not network with other students who are
able to share your vision, interest, passion and other talents that you might
be lacking! If nothing works then making money together will work regardless! You
are studying Biz administration and accounting. Are you familiar with Peach
Tree and Quick books etc? These days anybody can learn those soft wares easily.
Why not go to a local business owner and ask them if they need help with their
business? Their accounting and why not bring new ideas to them? You might say
what do I know? Well, you know a lot! Almost everyone gets lost after they come
out of college; get to the real world to find out that everything is so
confusing or upside down in real world! Instead talk to the business owners.
The only negative outcome will be they will say "no" to you! You will
learn to take "no" and get better at it! But what if someone says
"yes" instead then what! Well, you have got the perfect opportunity
then, don't you? Do not invest your money into things which you have no passion
for. Mind you! You will make some money but it will be a drag!

It is not the money brings the money. It is your skills, invested with savvy
business ideas; virtually no upfront cost to you makes lot more sense since you
do not have enough start up cost. Talk to people. They will guide you. Business
owners usually are very helpful to a young person trying to break out!

This is called investing in your self. Launch a website which can teach lot of
people how to use computers and charge a membership fee or say how to build
their own web sites, may be online course on any of these ideas. Help other
business people who do not have websites. Make it available initially at a
lower rate than your market niche. I could go on and on. Think like a business
owner who runs the business but does not have to be constantly there to run a
business. Your business, say, runs even if you are not there. Br free now!

That is the quickest way to Financial Freedom.

Good Luck!!

Real quick, and you've probably received similar responses.

1. First, if you're thinking about starting a business from you're home, be sure that there are no statutes (rules, contract agreements, etc.) prohibiting you from doing so. If there are, then you have only two real options: either move or shut down your home-based business. One homeowner association even learned that someone was buying-and-selling stocks from their home and took it to the extreme. How? I suppose the person started talking about it or something. (The statutes were very old and before the days of internet by the way.) Sometimes, the only real concern is "traffic flow" with neighbors being very understandable and make a SPECIAL exception based on the age of this statute.) For this reason, I mentioned the statutes first.

2. Some people favor MLM whereas others dispise them. Wal-mart is an example of multilevel marketing from the truck drivers who bring the goods to the greeters who meet customers at the door, and everyone gets paid. Remember, the "secret" to MLM that most people overlook is IT IS YOUR BUSINESS. Run it like a business owner, not an employee.

3. "Brainstorm" with your friends and people who you DO know and who you DO trust. They might have much better ideas of what kind of home-based business that might be best for you.

4. Since you are in school, you know the value of doing your own homework.

5. Do not fear failure but LEARN at least one thing from it.

These five things might be what you might consider, but remember that you have a brain. Use it. :o)

Just one question then one comment.

Did Thomas Edison fail 1000+ times in creating the light bulb or learn 9,999 ways it didn't work then apply what he learned until it did work?

Same age and successfully learned something new from each time that one didn't work for me.

Another MLM chiming in! LOL! But ding! ding! ding! This is the only one endorsed by Donald Trump. The startup cost is $500 and it does take work. But if you put the time in now, you'll reap the rewards in the next few years. It's not a get rich quick, but a get rich slow. Which is still better than a get rich never.
