Hi, I am looking for an online repository where all customer information can be stored and employees can just login to the system and access all information. The idea is to have all information in one location and eliminate hundreds of inter company emails. There should be a way by which each employee can just update any new information, others get a notification and they can access the information themselves.

Any suggestions?

Are you referring to online web based CRM? There are a number of them out there. I just started playing with FreeCRM.com. They have a free version and a 14.95 per user version. The free version has most everything you would need, especially if your mostly interested in tracking customers.

You can have employees all over the place and they all log in and have access to customer info, calanders and anything else you need to manage clients for a sales force/customer service business.

Like I said, I just started playing with it so I am not recommending it. Seems to work ok so far with my playing with it.

Hi there ClickandClimb,

For web based solutions to your problem "SalesForce.com" is the top of the line. A somewhat less powerful system is "AppShore.com." As a CPA I have just switched to the "AppShore" service from "Goldmine" that I had been using for several yeyars.

StreetSmart 7 has a CRM solution which is tied into the complete collaboration solution. You can assign tasks, create events, attach files & send and receive emails from the CRM record. Take a look http://www.infostreet.com/Applications/CRM/index.htm

I would suggest considering an industry-specific platform. Many industry have unique requirements that developed into specific applications, or modules/add-ons.

That said, and if you're a fan of the OpenSource community, I've heard very good things from a number of sourced about SugarCRM. http://www.sugarcrm.com/crm/. I can't speak drectly to it since we have not used it, but those "in know" (that I know!) swear by it.
