Could someone give us sound advice in looking for an investor for our venture in a short period of time? Two of our original investors we pitched to in July had their money tied to real estate when the market fell. Another one claims his money is tied up in a Coca Cola venture. We have had so many promises, but not enough backbone from those who have said they would come through for us, but did not. It's been an awful roller coaster, and yet the show must go on...dates are already set, contestants for our sports reality tv show have already signed up, applied and have booked their tickets for the next venue. Any advice?

We thought about the GOBigNetwork, but there seems to be a monthly fee--how do I know that they won't just lead us on, to acquire a monthly fee like a previous company did to us? And no investor came!

We have presented PowerPoints, marketing plans, general business plans, and they all say okay, but then procrastinate. We have been coming out of our own pockets and are requesting $75,000 to $100,000 to hold us off until we acquire sponsors during the commercial breaks of the show. Our other investors claims he will have money in three to four weeks when it is too late!

If you can advise, we appreciate it. Thank you.

Sports reality show, Welcome to this web site.
Hopefully you have come to the right place.
You say that you have "

Has anybody on the outside like SCORE (SCORE is FREE) reviewed
your plans??
Do the plans show how the investors will get their money back.
Best of luck, LUCKIEST

Have you tried pitching it to the big TV networks or cable? Okay..maybe Hollywood is not that easily accessible but maybe reaching out to your local TV network? I bet they maybe responsive. I would try that avenue vs. VCs because the actual network will be able to buy and produce your show. If they don't listen to you, maybe you want to form an alliance or partnership with a local non-profit company or school that may participate in your reality show and benefit somehow...TV always like a positive story. Good luck. It sounds like a great idea.

Yes, we've been very clear about how investors get a return on funds. In regards to big networks, that's been an uphill battle: during the writer's strike, we attempted to make most of those connections--empty promises. That's why we went with Fox Sports Net. The event takes place in a month; it's already unfolding. Our nect goal is to sell the commercial space to return funding.
