There's many ways to advertise....but do you put yourself on the front line and wear your Website link? I do!!!! I bought myself some t-shirts with my Web site link on it and I wear them to the gym, etc. I feel I am my own best advertising, as well as my clients. I know some people have gone so far as to get a magnetic square for their vehicle door and they drive around advertising, too! How about you?

Interesting idea. Do you do the vehicle magnet too? How well does that work for you, or how much does that seemingly contribute to the success of your business?

I don't do the vehicle advertising. That's a bit much in my opinion. Unless I was in a parade, in a convertible.....now, that would be TONS of fun waving to the crowds!!! Ha!

xenopod: Vehicle wraps and magnets are becoming much more popular, especially in smaller communities I think and they're fairly inexpensive comparatively. We have seen four companies which operate in our local area (within 5 miles) using the vehicle wrap advertising method and TONS of home-based businesses using vehicle magnets. I have a Saturn so the vehicle magnet thing won't work on my car.

designer: It appears we think alike! I also purchased some t-shirts with our company name and logo on the front and website link on the back. We wear them whenever we are doing stuff in public (casual) and to the gym. We also are very active in our Chamber of Commerce which helps place our website everywhere. The vehicle thing hasn't happened for me because I own a "plastic" car and nothing that isn't permanent sticks. :) I have thought of having a window decal with our logo and website for the back window placed, but haven't done that as of yet because a new vehicle is definitely in my future.

I also do the t shirt with free T-shirts that I design from Vista Print.

I have looked inot the car wrap idea, however, I travel out of state to do trade shows. I have heard of some people getting pulled over by the Interstate Commerce people. If you cross state lines for commerce, then you are supposed to have a log book like the truckers. I just don't want to invite another government agency to take a look at me.

I was just kidding about the stickers on bananas idea.

I was being serious about being a fool.

Wow.... I hadn't even thought about T-Shirts. Thanks. I just finished a design for the back window and a smaller version for the side windows of my SUV. I'll make sure I take the other vehicle for cross border shopping excursions as I do not keep a log in the vehicle.

How ‘bout a tattoo with your logo and website URL? I led a project a few years ago where eight of the team members had that done one night. (There were a lot of things about that group of people you could question, but their commitment wasn't one of them!)

A tatoo might not be the best of ideas, although I can see how it might work nicely for you Lighthouse.

I wasn't actually recommending or endorsing that people get tattoos with their website URLs.

Green 1, I didn't mean to scare you from diving your vehicle with signs across state lines. The rules only apply if you are going to sell something in another state. I transport my products with me when I travel so it would be kind of hard for me to explain that I am just using them for props since I would have so many of them in my van. The instances that I have knowledge of concerned persons with a truck and trailer with signs on the side and getting pulled over in the New York / New Jersey area. It could be just in that area or someone got up on the wrong side of bed but I don't want to take the chance.
