The best place to get info about how to set up a successful business is from the Franchisor. I hope in your due diligence you found that the Franchisor was excellent in helping their Zees choose the best location, invest in successful marketing campaigns, and overall, assist in developing the best smoothie franchise out there! Great! The best advice I give to a new owner is to stay focused on what the Zor is teaching you. Too much info from outside sources can be deadly. Realize that everyone wants to help, and put their two cents in, but it may not always be good advice, and it can lead you astray. Write down your goals, make sure the support team at the franchise is aware of them, and keep asking for direction from them and the other successful Zees!! Much success!!

Hello to all, in response to a request to an introduction because I just joined the forum, I am actually a full time employee in the hi tech field and I have been running a small business part time in the "Home Storage" industry in Texas. I relocated to Texas and quickly discovered that homes down here lack storage space, so I became involved, by mistake I might add, in the overhead storage industry.

It's very difficult holding down a full time job and trying to grow a business part time, but we're going on year 4 now, and still working the kinks out. Has anyone else had success going this route for starting up a business...?

I have been in the scuba business for over 30 years. I presently have a retail scuba operation in Southern California. There are many pit falls associated with this business however it can be rewarding and somewhat profitable if done correctly. Most people do it for the love of the sport and are people oriented people. Please note you will not get rich in this line of work however you can make a living and it beats corporate life. One big mistake people typically make is going into this venture under capitalized. Will you be starting this business from the ground up or will you be buying an existing operation? Will you have boats and a retail operation that teaches and sells equipment? Or will you have a resort that caters to divers who are already certified?
