Does anyone know of any good web hosting services that are cheap and or free? I would like one thats not ad supported.

I could also use some information about any open source or inexpensive web design software that's quick and easy to use.

Thanks for the help

Hello,

I hate coming on here and advertising me own company right off the bat but, my company, RongDesign! Company offers cheap hosting with a great control panel. Our small business special is onle $6.99 a month for 10GB of space, a FREE domain name and site studio if you are new at website design. Visit www.ronghosting.com where you can find the details of our packages.

Thanks you,

Take a look at office live. Officelive.com

It appears to have free hosting and the domain name registration is $14.95 per year,

rsmart,

I personally use 1and1.com though this is for my personal site as my business site is actually hosted on a server at work. 1and1 is relatively inexpensive 9.99 a month will give you what they deem a business package and includes the purchasing of the domain names. As for software the cheapest of course would be to learn some html and css and just use a text editor which is actually how much of my web work is done. There are of course simple applications that can help you in this process cssedit ($30) is a fantastic app which simplifies the oddities of css for the average user. As for html editors there are many different ones out there which range from free to hundreds of dollars. As for my own personal experience I started using dreamweaver until I saw how unclean the code it produced really was and then resorted to writing my own html simply using the basic text editor that cam on my machine. I hope all this info helps.

After posting the previous reply I was looking on google for something else and came across this http://pages.google.com/ . It seems that google has realized that people are in need of a free basic website creator and has produced one themselves. You will need a gmail account (free) to access the online software and it is in its experimental stage so they may be some bugs. Let us know if it helps you.

Godaddy.com has a simple and easy to use website plan. The cost is not much for a site without commerce. In fact you can get a site up and running within a day.
