Any suggestions for a good web designer?

I'm struggling to find a good web designer. I'd be very interested to hear your personal experiences/recommendations with web designers

What is it that you are looking for in your web designer? From your perspective what makes a good web designer? If you can share some insights into that and more about your potential development project the better the recommendations can be.

I am just giving disclosure upfront that we offer web development services and have worked with a multitude of clients and a multitude of developers.

Tried elance too expensive. I havent tried guru.com yet. I am looking for a web designer too!! Keep me in the loop.

Daniel Cohen Designs made my website - www.rock-a-baby.net. And the best part about it, is he enabled lots of it to be updated quickly and easily by me. I don't have to contact him everytime I need to add something new.
He's very talented.

An excellent web designer that I know of is RT Design and they can be receached at 239-913-0279. Ask for Ryan, Larry, or Brian. Great group of guys and really know what they are doing. Tell them Michelle Baker from The Go To Network sent you. Good look and if I can help any further please let me know.

So if you are looking to evaluate a designer/company to produce your next site you may want to check out all the critera, it is a bit long to list them out but it is designed to help people evaluate the quality of a web design portfolio.
