Welcome to Church & Christian Business Guide

<!-- COPY AND PASTE CODE BELOW TO MAKE A NEW PARAGRAPH -->We are
pleased to present the web version of CHURCH GUIDE. Its purpose is to
provide you with vital and interesting information about churches,
ministries, and Christian businesses and professionals in our
communities. By so doing, we hope to make it easier for you to make a
selection. When you visit a church or business, please let the minister
or manager know you are visiting because you saw their advertisement on
ChurchGuide.com.

In reviewing this Guide, you will find that churches, ministries,
businesses, and
professionals are classified by name, by type or denomination, by
pastor or key person, and by city. Each selection will accept partial
entries then list those closest to your entry. Of course the more
specific you can make your selection, the more likely you are to find
the entries you seek. There are also selections for Christian events,
groups and activities, plus Christian child care, Christian counseling,
and Christian schools.

We believe this Guide will be a helpful resource in finding a local
church, a Christian business, or a needed ministry. Again, if the Guide
has been helpful to you, please be sure to thank the minister, as well
as the businesses and professionals, for communicating their services
to you on
ChurchGuide.Com.

h2. Do you go to church?
A friend was in front of me
coming out of church one day, and the preacher was standing at the door
as he always is to shake hands. He grabbed my friend by the hand and
pulled him aside.

The Pastor said to him, "You need to join the Army of the Lord!"

My friend replied, "I'm already in the Army of the Lord, Pastor."

Pastor questioned, "How come I don't see you except at Christmas and Easter?"

He whispered back, "I'm in the secret service

Internet and E-commerce is a business. Your posts here are inappropriate. This is a business forum.

DD, I'm with you. Trekker is not a business person, only a hobbyist. I wonder if there is a way to get him off of this website. He needs to find a religious website.

I recommended several sites to him on another thread. Nothing he has posted is on topic and accurate, is sharing something new, is easy to read & understand or follows community guidelines.

I am not attacking anyone but I attaching my response to the last entry in the thread. This is a general response!

I think we should be careful about who and what should be banned from this forum.

Do I agree with all of his posts? Not always. But for many people, religion plays a huge part in how they conduct and run their business. I take my faith seriously and would hate to think that I cannot express my views on a subject from a religious slant for fear of being removed from this site.

That being said, it could be toned down. And those who don't like the subject matter can ignore the posts, the author is clearly recognizable. We are not being forced to read anything on this forum.

Censorship should always be approached with extreme caution.

I would say that most churches are businesses whether God exists or not.
Perhaps this thread should be moved to Shop Talk. That would be a more appropriate place for where this seems to be heading.

CENSORSHIP??????

Censorship would be preventing the person from speaking his mind. He is free to speak his mind on religion on an appropriate religious site. If B of A wants to have a separate section for 'religion in business' then fine...open one up. Until then, religious postings with doctrinal questions do not belong in a business forum.

Go back and re read a lot of the contributions from people...you can pretty well tell where they are coming from and if faith plays a part.

Yes, censorship! An earlier post mentioned removing him from this forum. Not yours, but read up the thread.

The post on "Misleading Advertising" was a business issue. It may not have been phrased the way others want it to be phrased but it was a business issue. But that is only one post. As a business owner I found it interesting, but others didn't - does that disqualify it from being worthy of this forum? No.

Questions of ethics are business questions. They are taught at every major business school in the country, and after certain mis-steps is a requirement in many masters programs. Ethics whether you like it or not tend to be religious based.

Can small business people stand a lesson in ethics? Yes. If it is good enough for the Fortune 500, then it shouldn't it be good enough for this forum?

You may see him as preaching. I do. Do I like it? No. But I found myself asking questions about how I do my business from a couple of his posts.

FYI, religion is big business! There is going to be a lot of religion in business, it already is.

Bank of America can do whatever it wants with this forum. All I am saying is that it is a slippery slope.

I am neither upset or angry with anyone. This is the type of free speech I think the constitution was hoping for. Look at the discussion this has started.

Domain Diva has tons of my respect, I just disagree with her. I know she understands this. I hope everyone else does.

"FYI, religion is big business! There is going to be a lot of religion in business, it already is."

That is the problem....religion in and of itself is not a business.. and this CHRISTIAN gets pretty darned upset when people try to make it so. I could care less what the rest of the so called religious right is doing there are appropriate places for religious discussions. A general business forum is not one of them.

Doctrinal discussions belong on a religious(ions) board.

Ethics is not a religious study area. You may want to check out a book called Moral Intelligence. Not one mention of religion anywhere.

We probably need to shut this down...no one is trying to censor anyone....censorship is what they do in China...or Saudi Arabia, arrest the offender. I have not advocated for any restriction of this persons right to free speech or freedom of movement or any other constitutional rights.... I am advocating that he take it to the appropriate place.

I cannot think of any theological blogger that would show up here expecting to post religious items....no one else should either. The space has to be respected. That has not happened with this particular poster.

Respect the forum and the forum mission and the other members here.

DD, I'm sorry but I do have to have one more post. I am the person that suggested that Trekker go away. My reason for stating this is that he is not following the intent and guidelines of the forums. To I Write, I understand what you are saying, but understand that I do not want to be preached down to. I do not expect this in my church nor do I expect it on a business forum.

Jim

PS. Let's get back to business.
