Re: HOW DO YOU FIND ANGEL INVESTORS ? Jan 23, 2008 8:53 PM
Finding the right angel investor is akin to looking for a needle in a haystack. Almost 60 percent of the $25 billion of angel money invested in the US in 2006 went into the technology, software and healthcare sectors. The average investment in 2006 was less than $500 thousand.
That being said, it was reported by The Wall Street Journal this past fall that angel investor groups are expanding their investment outlook beyond tech and Internet start-ups. Some angel investors are now investing in consumer products, food and beverage makers and even retail.
Most angel groups focus their investment dollars in their own backyard. A good place to start looking is the listing of groups by location on the website of the Angel Capital Education Foundation. You might also check out the Angel Capital Association.
Hope this is helpful.
