Joelle, a friendly word of caution . . . you're representing a discount medical program, not health coverage. Promoting it as health coverage or insurance without a license is a felony in most U.S. states. Just call it what it is -- and be blessed!

Hi Lighthouse,

You are right. It is discount medical program, which currently helps almost 2 million members nationwide.
Be blessed, as well! Thank you.

Health care in the USA is a joke. Most doctors and hospitals will refuse US citizens service if they do not have health insurance. A lot of discount programs do not always save that much money...just steer patients to certain doctors.

I have found many many ways to take care of myself and get free testing.

For Women: Planned parenthood has a mobile van that visits different locations for mammograms and other female wellness issues. You can also get all womens care and mammogram referrals as well, even if you are an older female (over 50).

For Everyone: Home shows will sometimes have someone doing bone density screenings or back screenings. DirectLabs.com is a great place to get tons of blood screening done for a lot less than a doctors office. There are mobile health care vans that also provide screening for mens health issues as well. Check local newspapers and fliers at grocery stores and convenience stores.

People need to assume responisibilty for their own health. You can't abuse yourself and then trot down to the doctor and say, "Make me well."

You are right Health Care is not what it should be, It is by law that you are seen by a physician if through emergency services however there are many programs like CHDP and Family Pact that will help with medical care. The best thing to do is call the facility where you are close to and interested in going and just ask what free services and applied services they provide, I am a nurse for a Reputable hospital and we offer so many services to little or no income people, that they are not even aware of because they don't ask. It is unfortunate that money for advertising is not put into these programs to get the word out.
