Nope.

It would be nice to have a counter that lets us know how many members there are and who is on the sight at the moment.

Thoughts?

Well, they do have a place to see who is on the site now. Just go to the forum page, and on the right side is a list of the top 10 poster, below them is a link for more.

Then click at the top of that list where it says who's online now.

But a counter would be cool.

Some forums have all that information listed at the bottom of the main page:

how many members, who's online now, how many online today, highest number online on a certain day, etc.

Good question. We did some tracking awhile back (before Christmas). It was running about 60 unique people on slow days to 125 on busy days at that point. Unfortunately (for what we were exploring, at least) about 80 percent were seemingly one-time visitors. I can't back it up with data, but my gut feeling is that we're still running with about the same unique visitor load, yet have a higher percentage of returning members (more active, regular participants and far more posts) each day now than we did back then, and fewer one-time visitors.

I should add that our tracking was based on hourly observations of who was signed in. We didn't have any special access to site statistics or anything, and consequently the number of people who browse the site without ever signing up or joining the community is unknown (but could be considerable).

I am sure there are tons of people who come to the site without registering, I wouldn't be surprised if daily visitors numbered in the 10's of thousands. Remember this site is spondored by the biggest bank in the world. While the other big banks are begging foreign nations for capital, BofA is writing checks for billions for Countrywide and acting like they are digging into petty cash to do it.

Again, I am no BofA cheerleader but it is the only bank stock I haven't sold because they are not cutting their dividend.

Now back to the original topic - the site launched sometime in October, you can do a Google search and see a ton of press releases. They advertise the site all over the web, on their web site, and in the BofA magazine which I actually think is a good read.

I think that is why we've seen an increase in the number of people that are only trying to sell something, they know BofA spends big.
