Consider using MS Sharepoint coupled with MS Project. It will allow various parties to access and update projects based on the the access rights given to the sharepoint site. It will also create a log and track various projects at once by having multiple sites. Sharepoint itself can be a usefull tool in managing tasks. It will really depend on your exact business need and budget. At least this will be something to consider

I've been struggling with MS Project for about a year, untill I realized I needed something more flexible. After months of searching I've found Wrike.com. This is a web-based project management tool which is used by many marketing teams around the globe. Why I chose it:
-it has Gantt charts, where you can drag-and-drop due dates
-it had time-tracking feature
-it has printable reports
-it is very easy to use and it's very flexible
-my team loves it
