How do you define the term entreprenuer?

Are there characteristics to meet as one that will help you be successful?

Downfalls to entreprenuership?

Please share your experience, and opinions.

For me the term states simply: The ability to succeed by my own means, to be empowered through business, as well as a professional commitment to myself and my community.

Do you mean ENTREPRENEUR?? Learn to spell or use spell check

An entrepreneur is a person who operates a new enterprise or venture and assumes some accountability for the
inherent risks.

The modern view on entrepreneurial talent is a person who
takes the risks involved to undertake a business venture.

AGAIN, LUCKIEST

LUCKIEST makes some good points to which I will add:

NEVER give up. The more people that hate it the better the idea.
Pay no attention to bozos who tear you down.
Keep going one step at a time.
You will get there.

Yes I would have to agree with you on that.

I think I might try and borrow some of Luckies knowledge.

If lucky will lend it to me.

An Entreprenuer, is someone that is educated enough to use correct grammar, but wise enough to be successful even if he ain't.

Sorry multiple posts.

I should have said they have a business plan if they are going to be successful.

I offered my business plan to a potential lending bank.

After over 3 hours of waiting for them to read the plan the came out with this lost expression on there face.

I waited for a response.

They simply stated: "We most certainly cannot fund your business. We have been on the phone with some potential investors, and we have found an angel investor that wishes to invest in your book. We read him the mission statement, and he has confused your business plan for a comedy, drama, and science fiction book. If you would like we could give you his business card".

In disgust, I stormed out, and followed up with a call to the better business bureau.

Unfortunately the BBB took my call as a prank and hung up. I called back and they pressed charges for phone harrassment.

By 11:30 am Monday, I had gotten an offer to write a book, recieved a visit from the police department, and misplaced my cell phone.

I went back to bed and slept till Wednesday.

I would have to say, even though I might not be an entreprenuer, I sure as heck am obsessive. I really believe being obsessive is one key to owning a successful business.

Are you successful?

This might even be a true story, so please stop laughing.

Might be true? Sounds like it really could be true the way things are these days.

Obsessive is good, can be used with phrases like 'dogging it to death', 'never give up' and 'those other people are crazy...not me!'

I only laugh to keep from crying.

I know the feeling.

I returned home after getting my first job in advertising. I went to church where I grew up. Of course everyone was interested in what I was doing and how things were going. I told them what I was doing, and nothing but stone cold silence until this older lady patted me on the side of my face and said, "don't worry baby, you'll find a real job soon. We'll pray for you."

My mom looked at me and just started to laugh. That was pretty much my parents' reaction when I told them I wanted to major in advertising, until they saw what advertising paid and the benefits it offered.

You should have taken the book deal.
