Some of my clients are wanting help to develop a business plan for their start ups. I do not offer these services, only loans for their business. I was wondering does anyone know of a good company who helps or writes business plans for people? I understand that people should be able to write their own plan, but some people have really good concepts but are weaker in this area. I just dont want them to miss out on their dream because of a lack of knowledge/direction.

As I'm sure someone will mention, SCORE provides the service for free.

Business planning assistance is also a core function of almost any management consulting firm. It is a fee-based service, of course -- but when there's a good match, it's worth it.

As Lighthouse has pointed out.
SCORE is a partner to Bank of America and provides free business plan assistance.
My firm works with clients on developing strong business plans as well, but we are a fee-based service.
My email never-the-less is d.skolnick@skolnick-associates.com.

CC08

I'll add that for small businesses, the best and most affordable approach may be for owners to prepare the business plans themselves using free information from the SBA, seek whatever free input and assistance they can obtain from SCORE and other sources, and then hire a knowledgeable consultant to review it and advise. If the owners will be seeking investors or a loan that's based on the plan (especially if they have never done that before), they should definitely have a consultant review the plan and help them prepare an Executive Summary for the loan request or investment proposal document.

Just curious: Aren't you two (CorpCons08 and loanguy) in the same business? I'm just asking because you have both responded to posts saying that you can help people get loans -- plus the Skolnick & Associates website, under Consulting Services, lists "Corporate Financing and Capitalization . . . Debt Consolidation, Merchant Service Processing, Credit Repair Services" -- and the Phoenix Financial Partner's website lists, well, all those things, too. Do you share clients or leads?

loan guy, Like you said in your answer "
I am in this business to help people", SCORE also helps
people in business (FREE). I am a SCORE Counselor (who is more of a morning person)
and SCORE helps people to develop Business and Marketing Plan for their start ups (again FREE. All their services
are FREE) either in person at a SCORE office or online.
There is a tremendous amount of info on developing business plans online, at bookstores and libraries
If I can be of help to you or your clients, contact me at " pdeig@juno.com "
Thanks, LUCKIEST

Hello Loan Guy,

My company provides this service, and many other helpful services for smaller companies that do not have the funds to have a full time marketing or administrative staff. Feel free to look at my web site and ask questions.
