The Story

As a third generation farmer and psychotherapist, I started working with Marines two years ago - on the issue of combat stress and PTSD. The goal was to provide a decompression zone for the stress of military duty, deployment and war. The model worked, yet the established standard of care finds it difficult to accept. We (volunteers and veterans) have now created the Common Ground Organic Farm www.CGOF.org and are in the development stages. The challenge now is funding. The farm, located in southern California, is near several million people - who buy food! And buying locally is gaining popularity. The farm can and will generate a positive cash flow, much of which could go to veteran services radiating from the farm. Plus, the farm can provide a significant supply of food source for our active duty families and veterans. Need ideas for collaboration on funding ASAP.
