Sir or madam - I resent the insinuaton that this is a 'complete scam'. I have graduates every week that are winning awards and changing their businesses. I have clients that have gotten their GSA Schedules. If you have read the entire blog, I provide factual information on the topic of Government contracting. Donald Trump's been in bankruptcy, Oprah has been sued for defamation of character, Suze Orman has been sued for fraud. So because of that, are they scams and automatically bad and evil people? Everybody who lashes out and attacks others should look in the mirror before 'casting stones'. If one sensationalist reporter who has an opinion based on his slant and not on fact (he never responded when I sent him factual data on Government contracting - fancy that) is going to set policy and guide our directions, we become lemmings going over the cliff!

Be careful of self certifications, when you finally do submit a bid you are saying that you meet those requirements. The 8a's requirement is that you meet the Socially AND Economically requirements to be eligable for this status.

At this time the B2G Institute has stolen $3,495 from me. I withdrew from a 3 day seminar at the beginning of the first day, called them over a dozen times and it is now 32 days past when I withdrew and have still not received a refund.

I withdrew in the first day because 85% of what they were teaching was how to write a business plan and market your services in general, not something I needed help with. The actually useful material was hidden in a bunch of introductory business class material and I didn't see the value in the total offering.

My experience has been completely negative with them as they will lie to your face or over the phone, whatever is needed. Karen Church, who is in charge of the refunds, is choosing to ignore their own contracts and Elmar has lied to me directly about when the funds would be returned. Don't do business with the B2G Institute, they are a pack of thieves.

DTTCore - good for you! And in the current economic times, I am very happy that your firm is rocking. Not trying to 'whip it out' - just validating. And you are correct - High Sierra works as the marketing arm for other firms and does not work directly.

I would challenge your discussion of the Institue's mission in your message though. We spend that last section on day 3 of the class telling people about factoring and the Assignment of Claims Act - then they can go out and find a factoring company if they so desire.

And let me add one thing on factoring companies or funding companies to all in the blog. WHOEVER you go to to get factoring or purchase order funding, get more than one proposal. I've heard of some companies out there that are charging 10%+ on gov't contract factoring. That is way too high. I see the more reputable firms down below 5% and some lower than that. AND, ask for references. Prudence and research into any venture is the correct manner of getting what you want.

Again, happy on the successes and wish you all the more as you continue.

Ted,

I have thought long and hard about whether or not to address your last reply to me concerning your inquisitiveness about how much government business I currently do. I will state right up front that I found it rather odd that you would actually want to whip it out and put it on a table for measuring.

My company was awarded an $11.2 million contract last month shortly before our exchange. We were awarded another small $1.6 million dollar contract just last week, which has led me to decide to reply.

We are a large company that engages in numerous mentor-protege relationships. Suffice to say, your firm, which appears to not actually engage federal contracting itself, would like to have us on your roster. Just as well, you would like to have your numerous client roster engage with us.

So, a word to the wise:

When you want to whip it out in public, it is best to know who you are whipping it out in front of and likewise to be prepared to have someone ready to cut it off with a wink and a smile.

Now that that has been addressed, I want to turn my attention to the exchange between you, LioraStein, and chuxx01.

The B2G Institute exists to educate companies in the government market for a fee in hopes that these companies will win a government contract award. This seems simple enough. But this is only the lost-but-paid for leader. The real story - THE REAL PURPOSE OF THE B2G INSTITUTE is to finance these contract awards through a process called factoring via the Assignment of Claims Act.

There is no way around this fact. The B2G Institute's parent company is a major player in the dying cash flow business and the founder, Fred Steinberg, is a self-proclaimed cash flow expert.

Readers of this forum - anyone will take your money. When it comes to the government contracting though make sure that you know to whom you are giving it and why.

Hi Mike! That initial setup is critical to setting a good foundation. The Institute does have RFP writers or if somebody is in the open market and not going to class, just send them to me and I can do a referral. In the meantime, drop me an email and let's dialogue directly. Ted

Hey Ted,

Thanks for the info on B2G. I am actually going to an intro seminar today at the Green Valley Ranch in Henderson.

We actually offer to register businesses with the Federal Government for a small fee of course. This is to help them through the first 48 to 72 hours of the registration process.(Dunns, CCR, ORCA, Sub net, etc.) We are actually looking to find someone we can refer these businesses to either a classroom setting like B2G, or independent contractors that actually write the proposals for fee. ( We are getting with certain ones like GSA Proposals.com) We don't have an educational institute like yours online yet.

Any thoughts?

Thank you, Mike Kaleikini
OMG. I cannot believe that this forum is here.

I took an employee to the free workshop, bought the seminar, and backed out after the first day. I got a talk about turning my back on the future as I went to fill out my refund paperwork. Getting the refund was agony - just as described here. Stay away.
