      <description>I will agree that becoming a consultant is easy, getting enough customers is not. I recently parted ways with the corporate life and set out on my own with a start-up consulting business. I have plenty of knowledge and experience, so I thought I would bring in customers left and right. However, selling a service can be trickier than selling a product. Getting someone to admit that they don't know more than you do and there is a better way can be difficult. You have to convince them that they need to spend money on intangibles.       <description>Your ideas sound great!  Just one note - with regard to the Petsitter idea - most (if you want to be successful) people who get into the pet sitting business will have to be bonded and insured.  That is a common question asked of pet sitters - after all, you are going into people's homes.  They want to know that they can trust you and, if something is missing, can file a claim.  Secondly, with today's gas prices, you need to factor in the cost of a tank of gas, which you can easily go through in a couple of days if you have several clients.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Also keep in mind the expense of treats, office supplies (my pet sitter leaves a diary of daily activities for the entire week) and you will have a little more than $20.00 invested initially.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade but these are things that might be overlooked in a start-up situation and it's best to be prepared rather than surprised!</description>
