I'm not clear on it either. I'm just trying to understand what's happening. Yes, paychecks are delayed 2 weeks. As far as I can see, from my check stub, the deductions were taken.

This is your second post about 24 and 26 week pay periods.
You have a 401K and a health insurance deduction (cafeteria plan) which comes off the gross amount earned
However you are NOT giving us enough info to give you good answers.
I am not real clear on what is happening here. On what books do they not appear until next year?

W-2s are driven by the paycheck date, not the dates worked. Did they delay pay checks? Did they screw up and not take the deductions from your pay for two periods?

I have a 401K and a health insurance deduction (cafeteria plan) which comes off the gross amount earned, so when I receive my W-2 the "wages, tips, other compensation" is roughly $4000 less than the actual gross amount. We're on a 24 pay period cycle. What happens when the last two deductions of the year don't, according to payroll reports, make it on the books until the following year making it 22 pay periods. Does that have any effect? What happens to those pre tax deductions?
