Having ads doesn't guarantee income. I design layouts for people at no cost no obligation. They don't have to order anything on my site to receive my services. Almost every website on the internet has google ads I am sure not every person is making money on those ads.

Does everything have to be about money? No, but it would explain the Google Ads on your homepage.
