Hi, I'm looking to get funding for my Chrome Plating shop. I'm looking to get new equipment that is safer on the environment and my kids and I. I'm looking to borrow $50,000. The area I have this shop in has 3 universities and lots of body shops and Harley Davidson shop and TruckStops and the list goes on. Its a perfect environment for a plating shop. The equipment that i`am looking to purchase allows me to do more than just chrome plate a part. It allows me to add different color tints as an option to really customize. It allows me to plate virtually anything. As with the Chrome shops that has been in business for years they dont offer this kind of service. There is nobody offering this in my area.
I am seeking a loan to suppliment growth in my green energy division

My company, Designing Online, Inc., dba Alternative Power Choices, a Pennsylvania S Corp, had previously and very successfully persued a home and garden audience, but our focus shifted to energy efficiency. We sold all home and garden related web sites a year ago and have invested all proceeds into developing the green energy division of our business.

We have three primary web sites that tie together to provide information, shopping and advanced market choices.

In the mix of these web sites is a 150 page energy efficiency book we have written that is very helpful in explaining the best energy choices to make. The book also provides references to the resources that can help our readers follow through on our ideas.

Our web sites support this new book and in turn, the book supports the web sites. POD (Print On Demand) publishing has been paid for through iUniverse and we are in the last legs of obtaining photo use rights and proof reading.

What we are looking for is a loan to carry us through the initial 6 months of ramp up time necessary for the book to get properly distributed and for the web sites to be properly promoted. Our overhead is low and the monthly needs are approx $7000. A loan of $42,000 would guaarntee a smooth operation of our business during that period of time. A three year term would work well, however a quicker payback would be possible if this were necessary, but it's not our first choice.

The web sites already exist and the books estimated publishing release date is mid November. We have performed all the work and already paid for everything. We just need working capital to help us stand on our feet better from November through April, while we grow.

The web sites are: http://www.energyefficientchoices.com/ and http://www.bestenergysavingproducts.com/

Interested businesses or individuals may reply and we will provide more specific details directly to you.

Thank-you,

Genaro,

Though I'm not sure how you ended up in this particular forum, I'm curious, why haven't you approached the "Home Depot" or other such distribution network. Thought I'd love to see more technical info on the product, if you do in fact have sole rights to it in the USA, and it looks as good installed as it does on your website, then unless the end user cost is prohibitive, there is an enormous market for the product, the economy notwithstanding.

The truth is that it is difficult
for a startup business to borrow money as a small business loan -- especially
without assets and without experience in the business.

However, if you're applying for a loan and if it is a big amount, banks and
even the Small Business Administration may consider the following factors:

A business plan explaining what the business is

Your background and experience in the business -- in my experience, this is

KEY in the eyes of the bank because they want to make sure that you know what
you are doing and that you can make the business work. If you don't have any
experience with the business, have someone on board that knows the business to
give banks assurance that someone will guide you

Your credit factors because it shows your dependability and how well you

handle credit. They will do a credit check on you and poor credit history may
be frowned upon, or even reason for the disapproval of your loan application

Your collateral. Banks, even SBA guaranteed loans, want the borrower to show

collateral. They want to be guaranteed that somewhere somehow they can get
payment from you

Condition or terms of loans. Banks would want to know three important things:

"How much money are you requesting? What will it be used for? and For how
long will it be needed?" Banks oftentimes prefer to approve loans for
items that can be identified, has lasting value, and can be repossessed and
sold if things fail.
