Don't expect people to come to you. That will not happen until your name is out there for about three years. Build a network - register in LinkedIn. Add your connections with people in the network. This is fairly easy but time consuming. LinkedIn connects you to people who are free degrees away from you. I have a great deal of success in just two months in using this.
Search CIOs and It professionalsin the "search".You may know someone who knows them and can help you connect. There is also start up websites you can most definitely use your services.
Let me know how I can help you.
You want to cast the biggest net at the start to get your name out there. Good Luck!

Most of what you have heard is true. SCORE is a great resource that is under-utilized (in my opinion) by the small business community. I heard of them when dealing with the SBA. SCORE is a group of retired professionals that offer business advice for free.

Luckiest can explain it better.

I see SCORE every where in this forum. Is SCORE a non profit org or a for profit org. I see some postings say that they work for free and offer plans and help business. Is that true?
I like all the answers. Like Lighthouse "Opening a consulting firm is like the first round of betting in poker"
and also SCORE. Have to remember SCORE pays me big time every time I use the "S" word.
So please add them up for me. We can have a guessing contest and the winner gets 50% of what I get.
Luckiest,

What are the most mentions of SCORE that you have gotten in a post? I mean, I understand that SCORE is a great resource, and that SCORE being free is an attractive offer, but I really was wondering how many times can one person squeeze SCORE into a post? I counted four SCORE in the last post but I am sure you a SCORE worker has afforded you many more opportunities to mention SCORE thanthose of us who are not associated with SCORE. lol (I needed that today!)
