I was doing the same research a few months ago and found reasonable manufacturers in Nicaragua. Only 2.5 hours from Miami and they do everything for you at reasonable prices. They are US manufacturers moved to Nicaragua due to labor rates and they are happy there.
I have more information I got but it's in a pdf file I can send you or google Textiles & Apparel Industry in Nicaragua.

I am also looking for someone to manufacture/supply various styles of polos, buttondowns etc... with my private label. I am a startup and the quantities will be small 20 to 30 units per shirt type. I expect to have at least 10 different shirt types with at least 3 to 4 color variations within each type. Can anyone suggest a source? I am sure that my initial quantities will not be large enough to look at an overseas supplier.
