GoDaddy.com is the world's largest domain name registrar. The Go Daddy Group, Inc. has grown to include more than 32 million domains under management, offering a complete product line, including comprehensive hosting solutions, Web site creation tools, Secure SSL certificates, personalized email with spam and anti-phishing filtering, e-commerce tools and more.

Warren Adelman, President & Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for day-to-day operations of the company, as well as resource management, process improvement and corporate strategic planning. He oversees Information Technology, Information Security and Continuity Planning, Human Resources, Domain Name Services, as well as Customer Sales and Support.

Warren joined Go Daddy after a variety of senior positions in the technology market, including Vice President of Strategic Relations at Network Associates (now McAfee) and CEO of NeoPlanet, a customer interaction software company where he established partnerships with Compaq, USA Networks, MTV, Universal Studios, New Line Cinema and others. Warren was also Vice President of Business Development at Bigfoot, a leader in email communications and marketing automation technologies. Warren will be able to answers questions like:

Should I secure domain names that are similar to mine?
How much security should my website have?
At a minimum, what elements should I have on my site?
Can I sell my domain? How do I do it?

I have several domains registered at GoDaddy. Their customer service is top notch. I have always thought of my domains as online real estate so I thought that was interesting.

If I am just starting, what should be on my Web site?

Your Web site should tell potential customers what you do & include contact info
- Easy to find contact information
- Offer multiple forms of contact (phone, email, fax)
If you're selling services, have a concise description of the products/services offered
- If you have a physical office/store provide the address, a map, and your hours of operation
For information only Web sites, don't go overboard with information
- Show some examples of what it is you do/sell
Have third party input about your company to build customer confidence including:
- Customer testimonials about products/examples of your services
- Link to other sites that have testimonials about you (kudos have more influence coming from someone else)
- Link to industry awards or your Better Business Bureau listing
Link to your Social Media sites (blog, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc) if applicable
If you have a niche audience, cater to them specifically
- Entertainment providers should have a calendar/schedule for visitors to know your availability
- Radio stations should have DJ info (pics/schedules/bio

How do you pick a good domain name?

Qualities of good domain names
-Easy to spell
-Easy to remember

Don't use confusing spellings

When choosing a company name, see if the domain name is available

Think ahead about domain names. If you currently sell auto parts and want to get into selling truck parts eventually, pick the appropriate domains names early (and before you tell anyone about your plans).

Thanks for your time! Can customers who already have all the elements of an ecommerce site other than
shopping cart (i.e.they already have a merchant account, gateway via Authorize.net or simiilar, etc.) just utilize
the shopping cart capabilities of GoDaddy? If so, what is the cost structure?

First, you should be using an SSL certificate to protect the transmission of all data between the customer's browser and the server. For more information on SSL certificates, you can go here:

Any time you're collecting sensitive information, there are many security precautions that need to be taken. For example, if you're collecting credit card data, Payment Card Industry compliance is required. Different types of information have different requirements, and it wouldn't be appropriate for me to go into detail in this forum. Suffice it to say, you will need to research what requirements exist for the specific information that you want to collect.
