As a web professional marketing web hosting services, I recommend to most clients to build their website using a blog platform. With so many to choose, I too like wordpress. I tell most of my clients to order a $3.99/mo. website package plus domain name from www.worldtel.com (the parent to gooditsolutions.com) and you get wordpress for no additional cost along with a host of other great tools. Wordpress is widely used and you can get many free themes, applications and plug-in that work with this great and flexible platform. It is better to host wordpress then have it on wordpress.com, in my opinion. Your time can be spent improving your business then managing and designing a website.
I once read an e-book from an internet marketing company that said they created 50 different pages for a local business website. The idea was to have a targeted page for each town in the coverage area to increase search engine rankings.

I thought this was a great idea, so I went to work on it immediately.
I mapped out the local towns and created a couple of pages, but soon
abandoned the project because it was boring, time-consuming and I was
creating ‘hidden pages’ with ‘duplicate content.’

But after converting my wife’s property management website to WordPress, I had an alternate strategy.

*With +WordPress +I am able to add a new blog post for
each town in our coverage area. This creates a new page for the search
engines to index, with keyword rich URLs.* The content of each post includes zip codes, keywords and links.

This improves our search engine rankings by adding new, relevant content to the site.
For smaller, more obscure searches, we are able to dominate the
rankings. If there is a certain area that we want to focus on to get
more leads, we can simply write more posts about those particular
areas.

In our case we created +Property Management Perspective +which is a series of local reports on the towns and neighborhoods in our coverage area. We give quality insider information on the area and current rental market.

This strategy can be applied to any type of local business. The posts should not be hard to write since you already know the area and can give some expert advice.

the seo benefits are strong, look for good themes with clean code like 'Headway' or 'FrugalTheme 3.0', your search rankings will improve and you will move ahead of the competition that had their sites built in 1998 and havent changed them since.

Mike, I'm doing this now, but your price seems WAAAAY too expensive! I signed up about 6 months ago with a company out of los angeles. I signed up as a "Reseller" and i'm paying $0.007 cents a call (less than a penny a call). That means your 10,000 calls would have cost $70 not $190, are you charging per call? or per Minute? Either way, seems your price is a bit high. They are providing me the Database, and doing the scrubbing too. What is the difference between your service and theirs? The site is www.messagecommunications.com if you are going to be cheaper, I'll use your service but it doesn't seem like you are.
Re: Anyone interested in sharing Twitter techniques?

Yes,
Twitter is really all about sharing.
It is always best to be perceived as being Generous rather than being loathed as "being on the take"
some points most people overlook are
1) it's not about numbers, having unrelated and untargeted followers can be a problem. Block and report any spammers following you. spam followers are one of the main ways other spam profiles find and automated follow you.

2) auto dm's thanking someone for following you, then sharing a link to your website or offer is lame. if you cant respond back in person with something relavent to the person who followed you, just dont reply back at all.

3)repeating your tweets is a good idea, as long as they are interesting, empowering, educational or inspiring. it helps people who missed the message enjoy what you share.

4) use localtweeps, hubspot twitter grader, or twellow to find people local to you.

5) have your high traffic, high commerce and high converson SEO keywords in mind when you tweet but dont SELL the terms, just tweet interesting, educational, empowering or inspiring things using those words. other people can find you using keyword searches ( and you can find people already talking about what you're already an expert in by using the same keyword searches )

6) search.twitter.com for a term and select the RSS feed option to send the whole stream to your google reader. then you can review, follow and engage likeminded folks.

7) I made a mindmap where I share these principles and more to help demystify the social media mindset. feel free to check it out on my blog. I share it as my gift.
http://generositymarketing.com/mom-and-pop-mindset-clarifies-social-media-strategy/
I hope this helps
thanks and take care
