Nothing new under the sun in this article.

What IS new are accredited Travel Service Providers who work with business travelers to find the lowest Internet rates. We use one and they have consistently cut our travel costs over 30% on average. I'm willing to bet that within 2 years the majority of business travel will be booked through TSPs.

This was ummm not so helpful. However, good writing. Clearly written from a advid travelers point of view with a decent budget. You should include helpful tips such as what sort of backpack and computer bag is best for traveling thru airports and multiple border entry stations. Another thing is it is best to keep your passport in a cover that hides the fact you're an American. From experience I can say that thanks to Bush the world hates Americans and would love to take it out on you when they are having a bad day. Other tips would be how to use VOIP services, phone forwarding, physical mail services, etc. Getting a local SIM Card in a foreign country and how to forward the USA numbers at the lowest cost, etc.

If your getting paid to write articles you might of well write something with some substance.

But in any case thanks for your effort.
RE: How Many Current Employees are in Your Departure Lounge?

This was a great read. Most of the statements were things I had heard before but that doesn't mean I am currently implementing them. This was a good reminder of treating employees the way I envisioned my company would when I started it. We want people to want to work here, we are part of the same team. If we are going to be successful it is because of the effort everyone puts forth. Consequently as we conitnue to succeed everyone in the company should benefit from that success.

This article is right on target. The one thing it omits is the next level of testing-- affordable COMPETENCY testing for small to mid-size companies. These are validated competency models that look at personality traits that impace core competencies. For instance, the core competencis of a sales manager include "persuading to buy," "negotiating," "resiliency," "driving for results," "managing others," and "coaching others." We are a small boutique executive recruiting firm and have used online testing for screening AND to faciliate our clients' final selection decision. Our clients LOVE having these objective data to compare candidates on an "apples to apples basis." Our tools are through www.triremeconsulting.com.
