Great advice (fairly new to this community). It is a struggle after bankruptcy (filed in 2002 after being out of work for almost a 1yr and 1/2). I am doing fairly well now and have followed most of the advice that was presented. Thanks for validating what I have already been practicing.

Outstanding. I have a brother in Freddie Mac and he stated that a secured credit card is the way to go. I know, I too filed for bankruptcy in 2005 and with all my might I am looking for ever way possible to get in good grace with the creditors. One other thing as stated by my younger brother which is an old exum "Cash is King" And with the Secure Credit Card; which is cash, your cash; you will be able to clean up your credit.

Great tips. I like the tip about making sure to check your credit every year. It's a no brainer especially when it's free.
