Hi Richard,

Great article. I have been doing quite a bit of research on SEO and your aricle is very clear as to what basic components need to be in order to make your website "crawl-friendly". You have brought up an interesting issue in regards to the Javascript in which I will definately talk with my website programmer about. What I've learned as I've been developing my website over the years for ecommerce, is that my website programmer, despite how talented he is at creating shopping carts and programming, doesn't know much about website SEO strategy. He's an implementer & programmer, not a marketing strategist. And so I've been learning that I haven't been doing everything right--which is sad on one level, but very exciting to think of the potential new business I will gain once everything is in perfect SEO shape!

Thanks,
Teah
Richard,

Great article. I think you should also post an article on tools that will also check for these items.
Also, have you seen the LinkScape tool from SEOmoz.org? Curious to hear your opinion, as a fellow SEO professional.
I think it's a good introduction into the world of SEO for poeple that are new to it. If you somewhat know HTML, JavaScript and CSS this article can be very useful.

This is a good introduction to SEO, but it is much more than just this.

As Idisol said, you can ask 5 people and they will tell a different story, because there are different ways and techniques to optimize a site.

I found that SEO is a very interesting subject, and I keep learning these techniques to optimize my own e-commerce because nobody know better than me my business. A good SEO company perhaps may be better than me but at which price for the site owner?

The article is very useful if the owner of website know programming. As to me - I don't. I know how it should work, but it is practically impossible for me to check if my site has all this stuff in right order. - Max I can check if the keywords I chose are in there.
My experience shows that if you ask 5 programmers to check the website - all 5 will tell you the different story,
depending of their experience , mood and only god knows what else.
Is any way to check all what your article is about with no or very limited knowledge of programming?
